The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has issued a statement regarding the Turkish Airways passenger plane that developed a fault and could not proceed on its journey.
The aircraft Flight No. TK 612 which had on Sunday taken off from Entebbe International Airport at about 7:14 am with 259 passengers on board, could not proceed after developing a fault.
As a standard safety procedure requirement, the pilot decided to overfly North Kampala several times so as to decrease the amount of fuel it had in its tank to an agreeable amount for safe landing, and the process lasted about three hours.
The aircraft successfully returned and landed safely at Entebbe, with all passengers safe, and they safely disembarked.
