| KAMPALA | KYAGGWE TV | A concerned citizen has petitioned the Inspector General of Government (IGG) calling for investigations into the operations of the M/S Kiira Motor Corporation and its activities.
According to the petition received by the IGG’s registry on July 10, 2024, the concerned citizen alleges that though M/S Kiira Motor Corporation has been staging that it manufactures electric powered automobiles in Uganda, it is instead just importing already made buses.
“This corporation has been receiving public funding for a long time, but they have never produced any buses for the country as portrayed. They continue to import finished buses and lie to the public that they have manufactured them here,” the anonymous petitioner alleges. He adds that the corporation is only used to steal money from the government.
He therefore asked that given the fact that President Museveni has started the war against corruption, he should as well pick interest in the affairs of Kiira Motor Corporation.
The full petition goes as follows;
The Inspector General of Government
Dear Madam/Sir,
RE: INVESTIGATION INTO M/S KIIRA MOTOR CORPORATION AND ITS ACTIVITIES
Reference is made to the above where M/s Kiira Motor Corporation a state owned enterprise established to manufacture electric powered automobiles in Uganda with the government of Uganda owning 96% shareholding and Makerere University owning 4%.
The said Kiira Motor Corporation will take out another UGX 20 billion out of public money to continue to fund its lie to the public while enriching a few government officials i.e the line minister Hon Musenero who perpetrates this lie, Tickodri-Togboa (the grandfather of conmen) and the conman in chief Paul Musasizi.
This corporation has been receiving public funding for a long time, but they have never produced any buses for the country as portrayed. They continue to import finished buses and lie to the public that they have manufactured them here. This corporation is only used to steal money from the government.
Since the President has started the war against corruption, why not join him as an office and interest yourself in the affairs of this corporation and show Ugandans where their money is going, what it produces?
Yours faithfully,
CONCERNED CITIZEN
