2024 UCE RESULTS: UNEB Cautions School Heads Against Fraudsters

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has cautioned heads of UCE centre numbers to be on the lookout for fraudsters claiming to be members of UNEB Security Committee and extorting money from them to allegedly strike their schools from the list of those whose results are to be withheld on grounds of malpractices.

The release issued on 7th February and signed by UNEB Principal Public Relations Officer  Jennifer Kalule-Musamba read in part;

“As we await to confirm the release date for the 2024 UCE results,  the board wishes to caution all Heads of UCE Centres against fraudsters extorting money from them claiming to be members of UNEB Security Committee; it has come to our attention that the masqueraders are calling Heads of centres and School Directors claiming that the results of their candidates are to be cancelled due to suspected involvement in examination malpractice and accordingly extort money from them  to allegedly ensure that their results are not withheld”.

Kalule accordingly said that the board does not operate like that, clarifying that where there is a matter of concern, management will write officially to the affected schools. She disclosed that the security team has been informed and the perpetrators are being tracked.

The statement further informed affected members of the public that the UCE results are not to be released today 7th February, and to disregard the misleading information on some platforms.

Concerned individuals are asked to remain calm until the official date is announced, with assurances that the board shall communicate the date as soon as confirmation from the Ministry of Education and Sports is received.

 Heads of UCE Centres were however reminded to ensure that they settle all outstanding invoices to avoid being inconvenienced by not accessing results at the time of release, and to check their portals to confirm if they have any unresolved commitment with the board.
