The Seventh Day Adventist Church in East Buganda Field has passed out 80 Senior Youth Leaders (SYL) who completed a year-long ministerial training programme.
The commissioning was carried out at Mukono Central SDA Church involving the 80 graduands who are part of the 150 trainees who registered for the course while the others fell out on the way.
The youth leaders were passed out during the Sabbath prayer service on 27th December 2025 at a function officiated over by the Uganda Union Director, Esther Waiswa, who appealed to Adventists at all levels to yearn for training in church leadership of Master Guide and Senior Youth Leader courses.
The bishop for East Buganda Field, Pr. Jeremiah Alisengawa appreciated the graduands who included a UPDF soldier, church elders, pastors and other ministers, for the sacrifice to acquire expertise in church ministry.

The representative of the trainees, David Kabengule disclosed that although 150 of them registered for the training, the number fell to 70, and later rose to 80, and added that completion was a true reflection of sacrifice and foregoing many things.
They were stripped of their old veils and frocked in garments marching the new levels they had achieved amid ululation and jubilation from the congregation.
Mukono RDC, Hajat Fatuma Ndisaba Nabitaka who was the special guest at the function, implored the newly trained ministers to serve with diligence and love for their job.
