Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor, Doreen Nyanjura has reported the death of her brother, Tugume Albert Cook by shooting.
Nyanjura who first reported on her X handle that Tugume had been abducted from Central Road, Ntinda Kigoowa Road at around 9:00pm on Thursday, after over an hour later she updated the tweet saying that he had been killed.
At first, Nyanjura reported that one person had been killed as her brother was abducted. It is apparently not yet electrified whether Tugume is the one person who had been gunned down on spot or he had died later.
She said that Tugume operated a mobile money outlet and that he met his death as the robbers went to his outlet.
According to the eyewitnesses, the armed robbers who approached the mobile money outlet on foot randomly shot in the air and that they went away with unidentified sums of money from the mobile money outlet.
They said that one person had been killed on the spot and others were injured.
By press time, Police had not yet come out with any official statement regarding the incident.
