The 6th Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, Bp. Moses Banja has pardoned the 10:30am choir and also asked for forgiveness from the choir members.
Bp. Banja had suspended the 10:30am choir over a number of reasons including indiscipline. The bishop therefore asked those who wanted to continue with the service to follow the given procedures and render in their application.
The over 101 members are said to have complied, filled forms and went through induction, orientation and commissioning by the Dean, Canon Jonathan Kisawuzi Ssaalongo.
Bp. Banja is said to have met the choir members on Thursday and himself asked them for forgiveness as he also pardoned them.
“I have pardoned you, I also ask for forgiveness from you too, where you found me wrong in regard to this matter,” Bp. Banja said.
During today’s 10:30am service, Bp. Banja’s message has been delivered by the Vicar, Rev. Abraham Muyinda together with head of Laity Fredrick J. Mpanga. The choir has been accepted back with great ululation and hand claps from the congregation.
The choir members have unanimously vowed to serve diligently and obedient to all the clergy and other people above them now and all who will be coming. The only remaining chapter is for 7:00am and 8:45am who will be following soon.
The Vicar apologized on behalf of all clergy for any wrong doing in our service. Vicar will be heading to Nkumba Parish, Rev. Samuel Muwonge will be in Kitende Parish in Entebbe Archdeaconry respectively. Rev. Agnes Tendo Ssemwanga will be heading to Gayaza High School while the Dean is set to retire from active service.
