Kyagulanyi Addresses Mammoth Crowd at Nateete As 8 Are Nominated
One person, a local musician has been shot at and injured as the security forces turned their weapons towards the supporters of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, a presidential candidate who held his post nomination rally at Nateete on Wednesday afternoon.
The injured person has been identified as Omukunja Atasera a.k.a Novik Music Africa, who has been shot in his left leg. Unidentified numbers of Kyagulanyi are reported to have been injured in a number of ways following the scuffle that involved the National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters and the security forces.
By press time, police or any other security agency had not yet come out to explain the incident.
Kyagulanyi is the NUP presidential candidate who has been nominated today, marking his second presidential bid, following his first time in 2021.
