Wakibugu has been the councillor representing Seeta Ward at Mukono Municipality on NUP ticket and he had also secured the same flag for the ongoing campaigns.
The leaders and members of National Unity Platform (NUP) in Mukono Municipality have been shocked with the death of one of their own, councillor Charles Wakikibugu which occurred on Tuesday December 2, 2025.
According to Dorah Nakaddu Nsubuga, the Mukono Municipality Speaker, Wakibugu, who has been battling Sickle Cell disease was admitted at Mukono General Hospital two days back and declared dead today’s morning.
Wakibugu has been the councillor representing Seeta Ward at Mukono Municipality on NUP ticket and he had also secured the same flag for the ongoing campaigns.
He is the second NUP flagbearer to die following Racheal Nakamanya, the Goma Division Female Youth councillor who died recently.
Nakaddu said that preliminary burial arrangements for Wakibugu states that he will be buried at Ggwaffu Cell in Seeta on Thursday.
