The Inspector General of Government (IGG), Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala, has ordered the arrest of Tumuheki Nicholas, an enrolled nurse at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, over alleged neglect of a patient in casualty. The directive was issued during a spot check at the hospital, which revealed shocking findings.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Nicholas allegedly instructed a caregiver to lay a profusely bleeding patient on the floor, citing lack of prior notice to prepare a bed.

The nurse also reportedly sent the caregiver to buy medicine from a nearby pharmacy, claiming the hospital was out of stock, but the medicines were never administered.
