According to a statement from the university’s Dean of Students’ office, Musimenta was found dead in her room at Sports Pro-Hostel, where she was staying.
Two university students have died in separate incidents in Mbarara and Kampala, leaving their institutions and families mourning.
At Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), a first-year Bachelor of Business Administration student, Anitah Ainembabazi Keitesi, died following a road crash along the Isingiro-Mbarara Road.
Keitesi was reportedly returning to campus on Sunday after attending the burial of her aunt at their home in Butenga Village, Isingiro District, over the weekend.
She was travelling on a boda boda, when the motorcycle was involved in a crash shortly after Kaberebere Town.
She sustained injuries in the accident and later died.

Meanwhile, Kyambogo University is mourning the death of 26-year-old Musimenta Precious, a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance student who was found dead in her hostel room in Banda, Kampala, on Monday.
According to a statement from the university’s Dean of Students’ office, Musimenta was found dead in her room at Sports Pro-Hostel, where she was staying.
Her body was taken to City Mortuary for further investigations, with a post-mortem examination expected to establish the cause of death.
“The body has been taken to City Mortuary for further investigations where a post-mortem report on the cause of her death will be provided,” the university said.
The university’s Student Welfare Department said it was in contact with Musimenta’s family to facilitate burial arrangements.
The university did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Musimenta was a North Hall student registered under student number 26/U/AFD/06334/PD.
