The circumstances surrounding the alleged assault, including what triggered the strike and whether any arrests have been made, remain unclear.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has scheduled the 2026 UACE examinations to begin with candidate briefings in early November, followed by written papers from Monday, November 9. The examinations are scheduled to run until early December.

The first written papers are scheduled to include History Paper 1 and Principal Mathematics in the morning, followed by History Paper 2 and Principal Mathematics Paper 2 in the afternoon, according to published timetable summaries.

UNEB has previously cautioned candidates against indiscipline, stressing that being an examination candidate does not exempt learners from school rules and regulations.

Police confirmation of the alleged assault at Mahyoro Secondary School and the school administration’s response had not been established at the time of writing.
