On Thursday police went to Miller’s home and found that she uses one room for keeping her plastic bottles, and the other one for sleeping.
Police findings indicate that Miller Mary Grace, 64, an American citizen, arrived in the country as a tourist on November 16, 2022, but that on expiry of her visa, she started devising means of making ends meet by collecting used plastic bottles and selling them at Ggaba at sh500 per kilogram.
Of late, Miller has appeared on several social media outlets, whereupon police picked interest and followed her. She was last week arrested and detained at Kabalagala where it was established that she entered Uganda through the Uganda-Kenya border three years ago.
She has two rooms she rents at Ggaba where she has been posing as an evangelist. On Thursday police went to Miller’s home and found that she uses one room for keeping her plastic bottles, and the other one for sleeping.
Miller said she found a lot of peace in Uganda and decided to stay here on expiry of her visa. Kampala Metropolitan Assistant Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire said she will be charged with illegal stay in the country, on police file number SD: 81/07/08/2025.
Police are also going to diversify investigations to establish whether she has no hidden agenda with acts contravening the laws of Uganda for the three years she had illegally stayed here.
