Maj. Gen. Deus Sande Karachi, Commander of the UPDF Armoured Division in Kasajjagirwa in Masaka, has died, reportedly due to heart failure. The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) has not yet confirmed the circumstances surrounding his death.
Gen. Karachi who hails from Kabale developed the heart complication at Jalia City petrol station near at the outskirts of Mpigi town last night before he was rushed to Mpigi hospital where he died shortly after.
The Armored Division spokesperson Lt. Teddy Anena has confirmed Gen. Karachi’s death but could not give more details.
