Bobi Wine Discharged from Nsambya Hospital

The Principal of National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine has been discharged from Nsambya Hospital where he was admitted on Tuesday evening.

Kyagulanyi was admitted at St. Francis Nsambya Hospital after sustaining a leg injury which was inflicted on him by the Uganda Police Force.

Together with his team, Kyagulanyi is said to have collided with the Police at Bulindo in Kira Municipality where he was allegedly shot at by the Police.

Joel Ssenyonyi, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament addressed the media yesterday that following the injury inflicted on Kyagulanyi by a teargas canister, the medical officers at Nsambya Hospital had advised him to have a surgery to remove the teargas fragments from his leg.

The surgery was scheduled for today on Wednesday. Kyaggwe TV has not yet confirmed whether Kyagulanyi has already gone through the surgery process but we have confirmed his discharge from the hospital.

He is expected to be managed from his home at Magere.

The Uganda Police through its spokesperson, Rusoke Kituuma on Tuesday refuted the allegations that Kyagulanyi had been shot at.

Kituuma said that Kyagulanyi together with his supporters had clashed with the police when they allegedly blocked the road.

He said that the NUP Principal was on the way from the party lawyer George Musisi’s home at Bulindo in Kira Municipality for a thanksgiving ceremony.

He said that Kyagulanyi instead just stumbled his led on his car as he entered to get off the scene.

“During the ensuing altercation, it is alleged that he sustained injuries. Police officers on site claim he stumbled while getting into his vehicle, causing the injury, whereas Hon. Kyagulanyi and his team assert that he was shot,” Kituuma alleged.
