The head of security in the district, RDC Ndisaba also said that despite the previous years when the security was so wanting due to the fact that people used to have sleepless nights which resulted from high crime rate in the district then, these days the situation is bearable and people can have uninterrupted nights.

Mukono district is on Sunday set to host all National Resistance Movement (NRM) Members of Parliament hailing from Buganda region together with the ministers and other government technical officers in a campaign code-named, Buganda for Museveni.
According to Mukono Resident District Commissioner, Hajat Fatuma Ndisaba Nabitaka, the function which is expected to host thousands of the NRM supporters from all the 18 sub-counties of Mukono district will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Kiyunga Muslim Primary School playground.
“Different Ministers, the Attorney General, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, and other government officials will give accountability for the good things which have been done by the NRM government. Among those, the locals will hear the projects which have benefitted Mukono as a district and some which are national,” Ndisaba said during a media engagement held on Friday in her office.

Among the many, she highlighted the tarmacking of Wantoni-Katosi-Nyenga road, Seeta-Namugongo Road, Mukono-Kalagi-Kayunga Road, and the ongoing road construction projects in Mukono Municipality which are funded by the World Bank.
“Allow me to thank President Museveni, a very genuine and good-hearted leader, who did not consider the fact that Mukono people have always been voting for opposition but he went ahead and gave us projects worth billions of monies,” she said.
She added: “A lot of schools have been built, including the seed schools, you can all visit Mukono High School, one of the Universal Secondary Schools in the district which has more than 2000 students with enough classroom blocks which are in flats, with enough highly qualified teachers who enable the learners to compete with their fellows in private schools.”

“Those are the few sectors I have tackled, expect more from different line Ministers like Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, the Minister for Works, John Chrysotom Muyingo of education, Minister for Energy, Ruth Nankabirwa, Balaam Barugahara, the State Minister for Youth and Children, Kyeyune Kasolo of Micro Finance, among others.”

Haji Haruna Ssemakula, the district NRM chairperson asked all the residents of Mukono to attend in person irrespective of their political affiliations saying the information which is going to be disseminated will benefit all of them.
Ssemakula said the day’s agenda items include announcing acceptance of provision of a ferry for Kkoome islands, commissioning the Ntenjeru-Bule road works in Mukono South, and other pertinent development issues.
He also asked those who have things that need explanations from these ministers and other government officials to come and get the feedback from the true sources of information.
“We shall have entertainment from Uganda’s leading artists who will be there to entertain you from morning to late in the evening,” he said.
