Embattled music icon, Joseph Mayanja a.k.a Dr. Jose Chameleone is in deep trouble with his 17-year marriage with Daniella Atim Mayanja on the verge of extinction after she filed a divorce.
Daniella is seeking separation in addition to a prayer to be allowed to retain care for their five children, plus a court order apportioning her their Seguku home and ordering Chameleon to continue providing for her and the children.
Atim who filed the petition based in the US and through Wamimbi Advocates and Solicitors, gave ten reasons on which she based her petition, including torturing her since 2013, five years after entering into a matrimonial agreement, till 2018 when she fled to the US with their children, neglecting the family, failing to show a semblance of love to them, and many other reasons.

In his April 14, 2025 response filed through MS Muwema & Co. Advocates, Chameleone refutes in totality, Daniella’s claims, saying he is very fond and proud of his family.
He instead pleaded that because of the nature of his job as a musician; he inevitably travels widely locally and abroad which keeps him detached from the family for long periods.
Chameleone explained that they mutually agreed that the wife travels to America and occupy the house he claims to have bought, while he struggles to make money to comfortably provide for them, adding that he has been continually providing for them even while in the US.
“And I occasionally find time and visit them in addition to providing care and the social media reports that she has made a habit to make are baseless and calculated at tarnishing my name, in addition to instill in the children the spirit of hatred towards me,” Chameleone stated further.
