A wife to one of the Uganda’s local artists, Douglas Mayanja, a.k.a Weasel has been arrested for knocking and injuring him after a domestic misunderstanding.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy Police spokesperson has identified the suspect as Sandra Teta, who is detained at Kabalagala Police Station.
Owoyesigyire says that Sandra Teta is facing charges of unlawful wounding of Weasel, a brother to Uganda’s music legendary, Dr. Jose Chameleon.
“The incident occurred today on Thursday at around midnight at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo, following an alleged altercation between the two. It is alleged that Sandra Teta intentionally drove and knocked down Weasel using motor vehicle registration number UBH 148Y, which has since been impounded and is parked at Kabalagala Police Station,” he said.
Weasel was initially rushed to Mukwaya Hospital and later transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he is currently admitted and receiving medical treatment.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
