Two of the children were confirmed dead on arrival at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital on Saturday evening, while the third passed away on Sunday. One child remains admitted but in critical condition.
The Police are investigating the suspected poisoning of four children by their father. The tragic incident left three children dead and one admitted in critical condition.
The incident happened on the evening of August 2, 2025, at Ngogoma village, Kinogozi parish, Kikuube district. The locals were left in shock after a 45-year-old man, identified as Wilson Kiiza, reportedly poisoned all of his four children for unknown reasons.

The deceased children, all pupils at Hoima Public School, have been identified as Solomon Asaba (P5) and Wilson Asinguza (P1). Happy Atugonza is still battling for his life.
Joyce Kansiime, a neighbour, said the children’s mother lives in Hoima town, where she sells fried cassava at Hoima Public School. At the time of the incident, the children were at home with their father.
Kansiime added that both the children and their father were rushed to the hospital after consuming the suspected poison and that their father remains in a critical condition.
“We are also waiting for the report by the police, but the children were playing normally throughout the day until their father returned in the afternoon,” she said.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said that investigations had commenced.
The relatives of the deceased children collected the bodies from Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for burial at Ngogoma village.
