The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has threatened to ban Kenya’s newspaper, The Standard from selling in Uganda.
Gen. Muhoozi through his X handle this evening has accused The Standard of abusing him through their publications, saying they might have thought of making a lot of money from Uganda but that will not happen.

The CDF’s tweets read as follows;
“I hear @StandardKenya is owned by Gideon Moi. He thinks abusing me is a simple thing? He will never make a shilling in Uganda again! We are going for ALL his businesses.
We are taking action on NEO-COLONIAL media based in Kenya like @StandardKenya. It is going to be completely BANNED in Uganda!”
For its Friday, February 28 edition, Kenya’s The Standard newspaper led with a screaming headline: “Four-Star Brat”, with a splash of pictures of Gen Muhoozi in full military fatigues.

The newspaper’s front page was dedicated to snippets of Muhoozi’s bio and his controversial posts on social media X platform.
The bold coverage, with The Nairobian digging into the Besigye-Byanyima-Museveni “love triangle,” riled Muhoozi supporters with the Kasambya County MP Daudi Kabanda declaring a protest for Wednesday next week.
“PLU is going to hold an energetic demonstration at the Kenyan High Commission next week on Wednesday,” Kabanda, the general secretary of the loose group PLU, said.
