Gen. Muhoozi’s Hard-hitting Tweets: PLU SG Challenges Minister Baryomunsi to Resign If the CDF Tweets are Making His Work Heavy!
The General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and MP for Kasambya County David Kabanda has made a scathing and demeaning attack on the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, blaming him for an earlier statement during a Capital FM talk show, Capital Gang in which the latter hinted that the CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s social media tweets jeopardize his (Baryomunsi) work.
During the radio talk show attended by prominent discussants including the NRM National Chairperson of the Women’s League, Lydia Wanyoto, NUP lawyer Benjamin Katana of PACE Advocates and Bugweri County MP Abdul Katuntu, Minister Baryomunsi ruled the CDF as being out of order for making strong worded tweets including threats to hang NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
Baryomunsi had told fellow panelists that Muhoozi is simply obsessed by tweeter, and that since he is an official spokesperson of government, many serious-minded Uganda ns have learnt to ignore the CDF’s tweets.
In his presentation, the minister had somewhere said that he has made consultations with the appointing authority because he noted, the CDF’s tweets were making his (Baryomunsi’s) work hard.
Not amused, the PLU Gen. Secretary Kabanda, who referred to the minister as a known opportunist who came to government for political survival, told him point blank that he has no moral authority to despise General Kainerugaba, himself having abducted a priest during last election campaign in Kanungu to suppress his opposition.
“You celebrated the death of Mr. Garuga (Musinguzi) because you knew very well that as long as he had lived to-date you had no chance of returning to parliament; you belong to a known clique in NRM that survives on political blackmail. As you are even blackmailing the President now with your threats of running for speaker such that you can be “bought” off the race with a big slot in cabinet”, Kabanda said without mincing words.

“Nurse Chris Baromunsi’s misuse of medical terminologies (jaundice) to sound intelligent won’t save him; his political schemes as a fence sitter only supporting the system when he is in and resort to blackmail when out have all been known. Some of us won’t get tired to expose traitors from within. So, if he thinks Gen Kainerugaba is making his work difficult and he is a leader of principle, why can’t he table in his resignation?”, the poison-mouthed legislator wondered.
