Angry and terrified residents thronged Herona Hospital in Kisoga where their village mate Kasimaggwa had been rushed for treatment, though he did not make it, as he died there after.

The residents said crimes including burglary, murder and storm of residents in the streets have increased and police have to increase in patrolling the roads at night because they are staying in fear.

Cissy Nabbaale, Kasimagwa’s mother, told our reporters that her son did not return home from work and when she tried to call him on phone, a different person received the call, which scaled up her suspicion that something could have happened to Brian.

Nabbaale told our reporter that she organized some people to go and try to find out what could have gone wrong, only to find him lying dead near his residence.

A colleague identified as Emmanuel Bbosa was found in bed in terrible pain and narrated that he had been confronted by a group of youths as he travelled back home from Kisoga town, whereupon they pounced on him, beat him up and stripped him of all his belongings including the mobile phone. He had wounds on his head.

Robert Ssekito, spokesperson for Herona Hospital, said Kasimaggwa was brought to the facility at 3:00am in a critical condition and breathed his last moments after arrival.

Area leaders and residents attributed the high crime rate to people who flock to Nakisunga including those who ran out of employment and opted to join terror gangs terrorizing residents.

“We are in panic. The crime situation is constantly increasing; we ask the security authorities to come to our rescue before we lose even more people”, they said.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the attack and said police are investigating the matter.
