In Masaka City, one Asiimwe Robert is currently on the run after attempting to bribe a UNEB monitor in an effort to influence the examination process, while six UNEB officials were arrested for examination malpractice at Kyotera Central Primary School.

They include invigilators Mulindwa Sulait, Nassango Sylvia, Nasamula Annet, Ssekitoleko Gonzaga, Nakityo Harriet, and Lubega John, a scout.

The arrests followed the discovery of a candidate in possession of a small paper containing Social Studies examination answers during an abrupt inspection. All suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

when contacted, UNEB Executive Director, Dan Odong decried the incidents saying however that the culprits are not UNEB officials but teachers who were recruited to help in the supervision of the exercise.

“The Uganda Police, in collaboration with UNEB, remains committed to upholding the integrity of national examinations. We caution all stakeholders to desist from any acts that compromise the credibility of the examination process,” said Kasirye in conclusion.
