Over 1,000 pastors will gather at Mt. Lebanon Christian Cathedral in Mukono to deliberate on development concerns affecting Pentecostal church leaders and followers in the country.
The engagement is a one-day retreat organized by Love, Peace, and Unity Pastors’ Destiny Forum. The Forum’s chairperson, Pr. Stephen Ssemusu says that the retreat which is intended to take place on September 5, 2024 will equip the pastors with relevant information regarding accessibility to government development programs.
Ssemusu says the most targeted church leaders are mainly from the districts of Greater Mukono, including; Mukono, Buikwe, Kayunga and Buvuma.
Pastor Samuel Lwandasa, the Forum Overseer says the retreat will help government officials understand pastors’ limitations towards embracing government programs.
“During this gathering, pastors will exchange ideas on the new challenges facing churches, and available opportunities for wealth creation in the country and beyond,” Pastor Lwandasa notes.
Pr. Ssemusu anticipates the growth of the church economically through a vast knowledge acquired from expatriate facilitators.

“Church leaders will receive relevant information about government programs that will benefit pentecostal congregations. We invited relevant people from the government to share this information,” Pastor Ssemusu reveals.
He adds that several pastors actively participate in agriculture and business but lack vital information on how to expand their businesses.
“We are also going to create more awareness about the ongoing security threats in the country. As well as sharpen leadership skills among church leaders looking at basics of managing families, children and the church today.” Col Edith Nakalema is expected to preside over the retreat.
