A man who has been traversing districts in search of a job finally resolved to kill his two sons aged six and four years, to allegedly face the suffering attached to joblessness as a single person.
Thomas Aliwo Mubi aged 41 years of Magi village, Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county in Kiboga district, is in police custody on suspicion of poisoning to death his two sons, Bugembe Thomas (6) and Praise Kabanda (4).
According to Wamala region police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, Aliwo separated with his wife some time back, and decided to relocate from Buyende to Kayunga district in search of a job to sustain the family.
It is alleged that when he failed, he decided to move further on to Hoima district where he expected a relative to find him a job.
He decided to leave Hoima and settle in neighbouring Kiboga district. And on 8th December, he boarded a boda boda which he directed to stop at Green Garden lodge in Kiboga; where he entered a room without going through the formalities of paying charges at the reception.
It is suspected that this is where he fulfilled the mission of his heart, killing his sons.

According to the Magi village chairperson, Joseph Muwonge, the lodge owners started looking for him and found him locked up in a room with the two boys vomiting and in a convulsion.
They raised an alarm upon which Aliwo tried to carry one of the bodies on his back to flee from the villagers’ anguish, but was overpowered and arrested.
He admitted to having administered poison to his children because he could not bear to see them starve to death as he had no money for buying food for them.
