Kasambya County Member of Parliament David Kabanda has launched a scathing attack on UPC president Jimmy Akena for criticizing Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, over his social media messages.
Kabanda, who doubles as the secretary general for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has accused Akena of hypocrisy and urged him to “shut up” and address the legacy of his father’s actions in Luweero.
Kabanda alleged that Akena is paid billions of money by President Museveni to pretend to lead UPC, a malfunction political party and that criticizing Gen. Muhoozi won’t revive his political career.

“Akena should shut up and go pay for all the skeletons of his father’s victims in Luweero. For how long will you extort money from the President so that you remain a fake leader of UPC? We all know the President pays you billions every year to keep pretending that UPC exists. You think by jumping on abusing Gen. @mkainerugaba, you will resurrect politically? Your Family is a reject in Lango. Please shut up,” Kabanda said.

He emphasized that as CDF and son of the President, Gen. Muhoozi bears a greater responsibility to exercise restraint in both his words and actions.
Akena’s criticism came after Gen. Muhoozi made several posts on social media, which were perceived as divisive and inflammatory. Akena said such behavior undermines the dignity of the military and the office of the CDF.
