A horrific incident has shaken Kampala’s Lungujja community, as police investigate the murder of a hotel manager and security guard at Dave Hotel and Suites. The victims, Asasira Shivani, 30, and Musinguzi Lawrence, 27, were found dead in separate rooms with stab wounds to the neck.

The incident happened on Saturday night at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mbubi zone, Lungujja Parish in Lubaga division.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala says that preliminary findings indicate that on 07/02/2026 at about 1000 hours, the owner of the business received a call from the manager, Asasira Shivani (the manager), informing him that she was looking for the hotel’s security guard, Musinguzi Lawrence, but could not locate him and that his phones were switched off.

She added that on realising that her phones were not being answered, the owner proceeded to the hotel, and here, he discovered that both the manager and the security guard had been murdered by unknown assailants.

“At about 1130 hours, the owner attempted to call back the manager, but her phone was also not being answered,” Kawala said.

“It was also established that a motor vehicle, registration number UBH 633M, Toyota Harrier, white in colour, had been stolen by the assailants,” Kawala said.

Police said the deceased were found in separate rooms, each having stab wounds around the neck area.

Kawala said the bodies have been conveyed to Mulago Hospital Mortuary pending post-mortem examinations. “Investigations are ongoing, and efforts to identify and arrest the suspects are underway.”
