After nominations, the NRM flag bearers for Mukono district chairmanship Francis Mukoome Lukooya decried what he called total breakdown of projects he had initiated during his two terms as district leader, and said that last year, Mukono district which was in 4th position rating earlier, stood at 45th position.
Lukooya lamented that although the district was the first one to buy a grader and a water drilling ridge, now has a water coverage standing at only 35%, and attributed this to the fact that the equipment is now hired out to other districts at the cost of satisfying requirements of Mukono people as a prerequisite.

Once in office Lukooya said, he is going to begin by revamping collapsed projects he had started, including a youth call centre which he noted has been reduced to an internet café instead of providing online connectivity services for youths, adding that his prime object was to reduce on youths flocking to Arab countries in search for jobs.
