You were not given five years to go and sleep and deliver promises in the last-minute rush before another round of elections. People aren’t funny!

Disappeared from Police Headquarters, Parliamentary CID Charles Twine’s Family Members Fail to Locate Him

There is a Luganda saying running to the effect that if one stays quiet, one avoids making regrets later on.  I am drawing this comment basing on a reaction posted by Kabale Municipality legislator, Dr. Nicholas Kamara, in reply to voters who blamed him for bringing and providing an ambulance in the wee hours of his contractual five-year period.

To quote him: “When I delivered an ambulance to the people of Kabale, some people said I targeted campaign time. But I got a five-year contract and made a manifesto of what I would do in the five years. Could I do all this in one year?”

Unknown to the legislator, he was opening a can of worms, as depicted here below in the reactions from some of the people of Kabale:

Sekabira Patrick: You were not given five years to go and sleep and deliver promises in the last-minute rush before another round of elections. People aren’t funny! They are serious and want to know, have you delivered?

Jonathan Kankiriho: Giving an ambulance would be okay but the concern is the labelling and posters which show a private or partisan matter.

Pharm Henry: What did you do in the first, second and third year that you are now finalising your manifesto with an ambulance? Or is it the first and only contribution you had in your manifesto, and you waited for the final year to deliver it!

Alex Kushy: But delivering at the peak of your contract when we are already in another political season seeking for another term clearly shows your target.  We weren’t born yesterday!

Baguma Square John Mary: Next time, it is not necessary to brand the ambulance with your photos, names… Any good deed with good intentions shall always speak for itself regardless of who donated it. That is why people consider it a season of politics.

Martin Mwijukye: Trying to pull off a 1999 Manchester United styled comeback in the Champions League finals!!

Mr. Detective: You think we are young in politics? You are targeting politics as a source of income, not for love of the people of Kabale or love for the country! You want to bag President Museveni’s 600m/=!!!
