However, Buganda caucus chairperson, Buvuma MP Robert Migadde Ndugwa said contribution to the caucus by members is a voluntary action and that Ssekikubo’s contribution was used long ago on various caucus businesses.

Lwemiyaga County Member of Parliament, Theodore Ssekikubo has declared that he has opted out of the Buganda caucus of NRM legislators and demanded for an unconditional refund of the contribution he has been making for the last five years.
Addressing journalists at parliament, Ssekikubo said he has been making a monthly contribution of 150,000 payable by all caucus members for allegedly running the party’s various obligations, adding that he was compelled to make the u-turn in protest against a party thrown for his opponent in the constituency Emmanuel Rwashande with his knowledge.

He said the party was organized by State Minister for co-operatives Harunah Kasolo and other party big wigs with the intention of canvassing for votes for Rwashande, which was not agreeable to Ssekikubo.
“I cannot accept to have my money used in expenditures that I was never informed about and so, I am asking for refund of my contribution so that I exit from the caucus peacefully,” he said.
Rwashande’s party was thrown at Ntuusi and attracted several celebrities and musicians to mobilise votes for Rwashande as the NRM flag bearer.
However, Buganda caucus chairperson, Buvuma MP Robert Migadde Ndugwa said contribution to the caucus by members is a voluntary action and that Ssekikubo’s contribution was used long ago on various caucus businesses.
Migadde added that the caucus is not a savings group where one is at liberty to withdraw their savings at will.
