At this juncture, Ssekikubo attempted to grab the microphone from Kuteesa, and in the ensuing struggle, the two exchanged some inaudible statements, until the battle culminated into a physical confrontation.

Former chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) for Sembabule district, Sam Kuteesa and Lwemiyaga Member of Parliament, Theodore Ssekikubo put all shame aside and fought for a microphone before President Museveni.

The function organized by Mawogola North MP Shartis Kuteesa at Sembabule playground, was geared at providing the president a platform to talk to residents over his cherished poverty reduction intervention known as Parish Development Model (PDM), among other issues.

The organiser Shartis Kuteesa was the first to speak, followed by her father Sam Kuteesa, who in turn invited Sembabule Woman MP Hanifa Kawooya to invite the President. At this juncture, Ssekikubo attempted to grab the microphone from Kuteesa, and in the ensuing struggle, the two exchanged some inaudible statements, until the battle culminated into a physical confrontation.

Not done, Ssekikubo followed Kawooya in an apparent attempt to take the physical war a bit further, but was refrained by security personnel. He then grabbed another microphone which was forcefully removed from him.

However, Kawooya managed to invite the President to address the audience, during which he challenged communities to cultivate more intensely and engage in animal husbandry to get their households from biting poverty.

Museveni disclosed that there are plans to step up PDM money from sh100m to sh200m, and urged them to diligently use the money for purposes for which they asked for it. He advised locals to desist from waiting for politicians’ handouts and instead work for themselves, reminding them that politics does not yield profits.

Shartis Kuteesa appealed to the President to provide a hospital, saying that Sembabule lacks a full-fledged hospital leading patients to trek long distances in search of medical services.

After the function, Ssekikubo’s supporters lifted him shoulder high and moved with him around the town, amid wild singing of praise songs.
