The discussion revolved around electoral and political reforms that the DA believes are a strong basis for national discussion, debate, and dialogue on the future of Uganda, and the alliance presented proposals aimed at addressing the questions surrounding leadership transition and electoral reforms.

They also asked the consultative forum leadership to ignite a debate on the following legal regimes: Constitutional Amendment Act, the National Transition and Reconciliation Act, the Presidential Transition Act, the Presidential Privileges and Immunities Act, the National Devolution Act and the Proportional Representation (National Electoral System) Act.

The chairperson of the National Consultative Forum, Godfrey Kiwanda, commended the DA team for coming up with such important proposals, stating that if addressed, passed, and implemented, they could resolve a multitude of political and leadership questions in the country.

Members of the National Consultative Forum also revealed to the DA that the NFC has received a number of proposals almost similar to those of the DA which, however, have been stuck in their records since 2013.
