President Museveni’s younger brother Nowomugisha Sedrack Nzeire has withdrawn his candidature in the race for the NRM’s National Vice Chairman for the Western region, and wished colleagues in the race the best.
Nzeire made this disclosure in a statement in which he said that after broad consultations with the Central Executive Committee (CEC), chaired by the party national chairman, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, he agreed to pull from the race in the spirit of harmonization and unity within the party.

He added that as a loyal cadre of the NRM, he firmly believes that personal ambition must always give way to the collective good of the Party and the Country, and that it is in this spirit that he took this step, confident that it best serves the stability and cohesion of the Party.
As he wished his colleagues remaining in the race the best, Nzeire called upon all Ugandans to continue supporting and rallying behind the National Resistance Movement as the vehicle for Uganda’s continued progress and transformation in consolidating gains scored in the past.
