NRM Kawempe North Campaigns Climax Into Music Gala

Kiwanda noted that the artistes’ compositions awoke Ugandans to President Museveni’s achievements, which he said has gone a long way in reminding the country where they came from and where they are destined.

In the final campaign round for Kawempe North by-elections, local artistes under their signature campaign music logo titled ‘Museveni Awooma’ organised a two-day music gala for mobilising support for the NRM flag bearer Hajat Farida Nambi ahead of the Thursday elections. It was held at Kawempe ‘Ku Ttaano’ and featured NRM achievements over a period.

The event was presided over by NRM chairperson for Buganda region Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi and President Museveni’s younger brother Shadrack Nzaire Kaguta, both of whom thanked the group for coming up with a gesture of rallying support for the party flag bearer.

Kiwanda noted that the artistes’ compositions awoke Ugandans to President Museveni’s achievements, which he said has gone a long way in reminding the country where they came from and where they are destined.

He cited tarmacking roads from border to border, restoring security, construction of schools and hospitals and other infrastructure. He appealed to voters to elect Nambi whom he said will collaborate with President Museveni to lobby for services.

Shadrack Nzeire Kaguta told residents that being a daughter to Mzee Moses Kigongo th NRM Vice Chairman, Nambi had a lot of opportunities of being named a cabinet minister and in effect use his influence to lobby for more utilities for the constituency. He cited garbage collection, job opportunities, and other services.

The group leader Emma Nsereko Munamasaka said that they organized the event to garner NRM support ahead of the elections.

Nsereko revealed that after Kawempe North elections, the team will proceed to Busoga region where they intend to intensify their campaign for the NRM and particularly for President Museveni and other flag bearers.

The group manager Ibrahim Musoga Nakabona said that they initiated the program to help sensitize Ugandans on government programmes, especially the drive from poverty to a middle income status.
