NUP Supporters Involved in Accident on Kyagulanyi’s Way to Jinja

A number of National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters have today been critically injured in an accident which involved several motorcycles and vehicles which were in the convoy heading to Jinja where Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the party presidential candidate, has held his manifesto and campaign launch.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the accident happened at Bandaali-Namyoya village in Nakifuma-Naggalama Town Council on Nakifuma-Bukolooto road in Mukono district at around 1:00pm.

Onyango said that a number of critically unidentified injured people were rushed to St. Francis Naggalama Hospital for medical attention.

Bernad Ssempaka, a Mukono district councilor told our reporter that a coaster which was carrying some of the party supporters to Jinja rammed into a station track which had mechanical problems, injuring its occupants and bodaboda riders together with their passengers.

Police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke asked road users to follow the traffic guidelines even as they carry on different political trails and campaigns.
