As unrest rages in the National Unity Platform (NUP) camp since campaigns for Kawempe North parliamentary by-election were flagged off last week, party members continue to cry out over alleged irregular arrest of their members, whom they claim are taken to unknown places.
In the latest of such developments, Ssentongo Shakur was on Wednesday picked from his workplace in Jinja City by men travelling in a TOYOTA Noah car bearing registration number UAF 154P, and by press time, his whereabouts were unknown.
And in yet another related incident yesterday evening in Hoima City, Bashabe Vianney commonly known as Vian Media on Tik Tok, was picked from his workplace by unidentified men travelling in a TOYOTA Hiace commonly known as Drone and registered as number UBK 461D.

Angry NUP supporters are vowing to do everything within their power to win the constituency in spite of the ongoing intimidation.
They aver that all the intimidation is being done to discourage their participation in the election but they stress, the crimes are awakening more Ugandans and giving them more reasons to fight for freedom. “They are doing all to prevent us but no amount of intimidation can deter us,” they claim.
