Andama was elected Guild President under the NUP flag, following the dismissal of Akiso Benjamin, who was removed for leading a protest against unfair tuition policies. Akiso’s dismissal sparked outrage from NUP, with party leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) condemning the move as a politically motivated attack on student activism.
