The UPDF spokesperson Maj. Gen Felix Kulayigye has disclosed that the National Unity Platform (NUP) official, John Bosco Kibalama who was allegedly abducted during the 2021 general election campaigns, is out of the country, having escaped through unofficial channels.

For over six years, Kibalama’s whereabouts have been unknown, and NUP officials state that he is among the 18 supporters who were abducted during the 2021 general campaigns but that since then, efforts to trace his whereabouts have been futile.

The Prime Minister, Robina Nabbanja while on the floor of Parliament one time consented that the government was holding Kibalama, but after some time, she retracted her statement when the public turned against her, asking her to reveal his whereabouts.

The army spokesperson, Major General Felix Kulayigye has however confirmed that Kibalama is out of the country, having escaped through unofficial channels.

Kulayigye has been quoted as saying, “Actually, what I can tell you is that Kibalama is out of the country.”
