Kiwanuka’s family was represented by his relative, an official of KCCA Prosper Lwamasaka who informed mourners that the deceased’s father loved her so much that he gave her a long list of names including Namirembe Angella Maria Ssimanyibwendiba Nsereko.

Burial of Angella Namirembe Nantumbwe, the UCU School of Law student who on Monday perished in a boda boda accident in Mengo as she proceeded to school, was by close of business on Thursday still hanging in balance as two men each claiming to be her biological father, were still engaged in a tug-of-war over her place of burial.
As Nantumbwe’s body was on Thursday taken to Christ the King Church for a requiem mass, the family of one of the men Robert Mutebi of Mutungo Zone IV was engaging lawyers to go to court and seek an order blocking her burial by the family of the US-based Lawrence Kiwanuka pending conducting of a DNA test to establish the deceased’s paternity.

Mutebi filed the case in Luzira court seeking stay of the burial following a declaration by the deceased’s mother Agnes Nabisere that Mutebi was not the father of the deceased, but that it is Kiwanuka who has even been paying for tuition for many years.
Trouble began at the Mulago mortuary where the body was taken after the accident, when Mutebi who had arrived escorted by Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to pick the body, was confronted by Nabisere who sternly warned him against interfering in the burial arrangement, and added that her daughter was to be buried at her rightful ancestors’ burial ground and not at his (Mutebi) place.

However, the mass proceeded guided by Rev. Fr. Frederick Kiwanuka, and Nantumbwe’s mother Nabisere thanked Kiwanuka who is currently in the US for the care, love and support extended to their daughter. In his telephone message, Kiwanuka informed mourners that the deceased was her only daughter.
