Kagodo took a swipe at men who have abandoned their responsibilities in their homes and surrendered every detail to the mothers.
The Anglican Bishop for Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo has advised parents who do not want to pay for their children’s lunch in church-run schools to transfer their children to other schools until the government begins to pay for learners’ meals.
In a determined tone, the angry prelate said, “Even if it means bringing me close to death, I do not believe in parents who do not want to pay for their children’s meals at school, if you are against payment, kindly transfer your child to some other schools where non-payment is accommodated.”
Bp. Kagodo was on Sunday 20th July 2025 addressing the congregation that thronged St. Stephen’s Church Bulijjo in Nakanyonyi parish, Bukoba Archdeaconry at a function where he laid the foundation stone for the newly constructed church and commissioned it.

He was assisted by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev. John Musoke, and the Provost for St. Philip and Andrew’s Cathedral, Rev. Can. Godfrey Ssengendo. At the function, Bp. Kagodo baptized one believer and confirmed 140 others.
In his homily, he attacked parents who are unwilling to part with only sh50,000 per term in payment of their children’s meals, and always looking at the government to pay for everything they need.
“You should feel duty bound to come to government rescue by paying for your children’s meals as a way of thanking the government for having fulfilled its obligations”.
He sadly noted that it is not surprising to find that the parents who are unwilling to provide for their children’s meals are the ones who spend almost all of their time and earnings eating pork and drinking in bars at the cost of caring for their offsprings.

Kagodo took a swipe at men who have abandoned their responsibilities in their homes and surrendered every detail to the mothers.
“I cannot accept parents who want to starve their children; you can take the children away and bring them back when the government starts paying for their meals,” he advised.
Turning to confirmants, the bishop called on them to be determined, committed and dedicated people to the service of God as the hope for their future.
He also implored them to take the biblical Anna as the yardstick in prayer and fasting, spending most of her time in the church.
The Archdeacon for Bukoba Archdeaconry, Ven. Charles Bukenya cited land grabbing, witchcraft and unending politicking as vices that have weakened the church development, despite visible projects like construction of ministers’ residences and churches.
The bishop’s wife, Catherine Kitto appealed to the confirmants to implement whatever has been taught to them as a way of becoming useful citizens in the future. She thanked the Christians for constructing a respectable Church.
