Fear has gripped police officers in Mukono Police Division, following an incident which left the Officer in Charge of Ntaawo Police Station dead and another police officer critically injured by unknown assailants.
The deceased, identified as ASP Emma Bagenda, was in the company of PC Jackson Kiyingi who was injured along with an unidentified businessman who was both shot and cut in the face as he tried to resist the robbery at his wholesale shop.
The incident occurred at Ntaawo Cell in Mukono Central Division, Mukono Municipality on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at around 10:20pm.
According to reports, Bagenda and his colleague were attempting to stop suspected thugs traveling on a motorcycle when they (suspects) allegedly opened fire at them, instantly killing the OC and injuring the police officer.
The injured businessman was rushed to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital for treatment though the injured police officer was rushed to unidentified heathy facility.

Local law enforcement officials have appealed for public cooperation in providing information that could lead to arrest of the killers.

Relatedly, last month, the proprietor of Jesjonny Junior School located at Ngandu Cell in Mukono Central Division, Geoffrey Mayanja was waylaid and cut several times on the head by armed assailants on his way to his school very early in the morning.
Mayanja was rushed to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital where he was treated and discharged later on.
