The territorial police at Nagalama have rescued 51 people suspected to have been destined for human trafficking under the guise of finding them juicy jobs by a dubious agency calling itself Aim Global Alliance.

According to information received at police, it’s alleged that the victims are usually conned with promises of giving them jobs, with each person required to advance a non-refundable down payment of sh150,000 said to be on-the-job training fee.

It is also alleged that the suspects identified as Kasule Zephania, Nantima Evelyn and their unidentified agents, use their victims’ mobile numbers to get connected to other people whom they entice into paying a similar amount to access an assortment of household property for resale at higher prices to get a profit. The two have since been arrested and detained at Naggalama division police headquarters.

According to the victims, the suspects give them attractive promises of earning not less than one million shillings in a short time after selling their products said to be in high demand. The police operation prompted by a tip off was mounted in different areas of Kalagi including Kakoola village, Kyabakadde parish, Kyampisi sub-county, where 11 males and 3 females were found sleeping in one room, Kalagi village, Naggalama A ward, Nakifuma-Naggalama town council where 20 victims including 10 males and 10 females were found sleeping in a small single room.

In Bbosa village, Kyabakadde parish, 14 victims including 6 males and 8 females were also found sleeping in one room awaiting their time to proceed to their new work places.

Police operations were said to be ongoing until all the suspects’ victims are flushed out.
