Police Take to Court Thugs Who Disguised as Museveni’s Supporters, Robbed, Injured People in Kampala

Police have finished the investigations into the Kifeesi gangs who put on NRM yellow T-shirts, beaten and robbed people in Kampala on Saturday, the day President Museveni picked his nomination forms from the party headquarters in Kyaddondo.

According to the Police spokesperson, Rusoke Kituuma, following the CCTV footage recorded on Saturday when these gangs terrorised the city leading to injuring and stabbing to death of a mobile money agent, over 30 suspects have been arrested.

Today’s morning, police have delivered the suspects to LDC Court in Makerere where they are going to be charged from.

According to police, the suspect include two females, who are in connection with a string of robberies and assaults that occurred on June 28, 2025, around 2:00 pm, along the National Theatre and UBC roundabout area.

The suspects, disguised in yellow T-shirts, targeted people heading to Kyadondo to witness the nomination of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, as well as motorists, businesspeople, and pedestrians.

Among the victims, is the former head of Police Criminal Investigations Department, Grace Akullo who was robbed of her property as her child was beaten and injured.

Using CCTV footage, police tracked and intercepted the suspects in various areas.

Police charged the suspects with cases of simple robberies and assault.
