A government-aided secondary school in Jinja City has suspended its computer teacher following the circulation of a viral video showing him allegedly kissing a student.
The incident, which has sparked concern among parents and education authorities, reportedly occurred within Masese Seed Secondary School premises.
The video, widely shared on social media, shows the teacher identified as Nasser Wampende in what appears to be an inappropriate interaction with a female student believed to be a learner at the school.
The school headteacher, Aisha Male confirmed the suspension of the school’s computer technician, Wampende on Monday, stating that the teacher in question had been suspended pending a formal investigation into the matter.
“As a school, we uphold strict professional and ethical standards. The teacher has been asked to step aside as inquiries continue,” the headteacher said, adding; “Intimate relationships between staff and students are strictly prohibited at our school.”
