In a story of resilience and brotherhood, a set of triplets from Soroti City is celebrating academic success after all three passed the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) 2025 examinations despite years of illness and financial hardship.

Isaac Odongo, Abraham Opio and Jacob Ochen, who studied at Teso College Aloet, proved that determination and mutual support can overcome even the toughest obstacles.

Isaac Odongo emerged with 20 points in Physics, Mathematics and Technical Drawing. His brother Abraham Opio scored 18 points in Physics, Economics and Mathematics, while Jacob Ochen obtained 16 points in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Their path, however, was not easy. The brothers say frequent illness often disrupted their studies. Malaria and ulcers would sometimes strike them at the same time, forcing them to miss classes and spend days recovering.

Despite these challenges, they encouraged one another to keep going.

“When one of us felt weak or discouraged, the others would push him to continue reading,” one of the brothers said.

Financial struggles at home also made their education difficult, but the family remained committed to keeping the three boys in school.

Teachers at Teso College Aloet say the brothers were disciplined and determined students who rarely gave up, even when circumstances were difficult.

Now that they have completed A-Level, the triplets are looking ahead to the next chapter of their lives. They hope to pursue professional courses at university, with careers such as civil engineering and medicine among their dreams.

For the brothers, their success is more than just passing exams—it is proof that perseverance, family support and unity can turn hardship into achievement.
