Basajjassubi, the board chairman also expressed appreciation to the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) for introduction of the new curriculum which he noted has come with the best practices of identifying and skills development amongst the learners.

The Archdeacon of Bukoba Archdeaconry, in Mukono diocese, Rev. Canon George William Kityo has implored students preparing for their final examinations later this month, to develop a heart of trust in the Lord, and that like the biblical Israelites who, despite their weak war artistry and valour, triumphed over the Amorites, Moabites and other attacking armies, they too will walk out of the examination rooms with triumph.
Citing another biblical illustration, the man of God said that David, who was a small young man, vanquished the Philistine giant Goliath using only a sling, because of his trust in the Lord.

“Worry and a scared mind do not offer a solution, rather, opt to serious prayer and trust to the Lord who has provided for your education career from childhood and you will surely see victory come your way,” he assured the candidates.
Can. Kityo made the remarks while delivering a sermon in a blessing service for ‘O’ and ‘A’ level students of Naggalama Secondary School students located at Bunyiri village in Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono district ahead of their final UNEB examinations starting later this month.

He told the students that biblical King Jehoshaphat always managed to beat his enemies hands down because he always surrendered to the Lord all his enemies presenting themselves to him for war.
He also reminded them that the Holy Bible implored mankind to know the time and always do the right thing at the right time, in the right way and in the right place so as to register success.

The chairman of the Board of governors of Naggalama SS, Daniel Basajjassubi hailed the NRM government for the decision to liberalize education, and happily noted that the school is moving as planned along the normal upward curve.
Basajjassubi, the board chairman also expressed appreciation to the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) for introduction of the new curriculum which he noted has come with the best practices of identifying and skills development amongst the learners.

Basajjassubi thanked the parents for taking it upon themselves to attend the blessing service, reasoning that it has a psychological effect of serving as an inspiration to their children to feel duty bound to excel in their examinations as a way of paying their parents back.
Earlier, the headteacher, Nyanja William celebrated the drastically improved discipline among his learners, and attributed this development to joint concern by parents, teachers and management, to join hands in moulding the children’s conduct whenever any shortcoming is detected.

On expected good examination results, Nyanja reported that as teachers, they have unreservedly handed to the learners all it takes to make them pass with high grades, and pointed out that there will be no excuse for any poor performance.
Elaborating, the HM said, “Last year we were among the best performing schools in the country and this year we expect not less than 20 candidates passing with ‘A’s because we have prepared all of them to the best standards”.

Students including Apio Patience Peace (S4), Ssebandeke Shadrack (S4), Aisha Nabatanzi and Fahad, (S.6) who spoke on behalf of their fellow finalists, concurred in thanking the school administration, their teachers and parents for unreservedly going out of their way to forgo everything in the attempt to give them a meaningful future.
