Police in Savannah Region are holding two former UMEME employees who were arrested following a joint operation which targeted individuals involved in the vandalism of electricity infrastructure.

Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson has identified the suspects as Kamoga Godfrey, a resident of Bajjo Kisingiri Village and Kasaga Geoffrey, a resident of Namaliga West Village.

Twiineamazima said that the operation was carried out on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 7:30am,

“The suspects assisted officers in locating several storage sites of exhibits in Nkokonjeru and Bajjo, where stolen electrical materials were recovered, including; two rolls of bare conductors, five rolls of three-phase ABC wires, small single-phase ABC cables, pliers and various other electrical materials used for connections,” he said.

He added that the suspects, along with the recovered items were transferred to CID Headquarters for further investigation and processing.
