Uganda police have rescued a 2.8-year-old boy who was kidnapped from Musajja Alumbwa in Mengo, Kampala district and the kidnapper fled to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson has identified the boy as Ivan Bent, and the suspect as Amani Jesteri.
Owoyesigyire said that Uganda police working with the support of sister security agencies, managed to apprehend the suspect and the child was successfully recovered alive.

He added that the suspect is currently in custody yet the boy was re-united and handed over to his parents.
He said they are finalizing the investigations to have the suspect arraigned before the court and face the charges.
