The Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament has called for the establishment of a Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Centre in Burundi, one of the East African Community countries in the south of Uganda.
By asking for a UNEB centre in Burundi, the legislators aim at reducing the cost of transporting learners from Burundi to Uganda and the psychological strain which comes with the lengthy movements on learners as they travel to sit for exams in Uganda.

The call was made by Gabriel Okumu the Okoro County MP while presenting a report by the Committee following complaints raised by MPs on the need by Government to establish a national examination centre in Burundi for the learners studying under the Ugandan curriculum who are forced to make the lengthy trips to sit for exams in Uganda.
