“We have been subjected to 12 days of daily physical and psychological torment; amid the flogging, they have been asking especially me, from Western Uganda, how I could support Kyagulanyi and the National Unity Platform”.
These were some of the words of emaciated, sickly looking Bashabe Vianney soon after release from the CMI torture chambers where he, alongside Hussein Mumbya and Shakur Sentongo, have been held incommunicado and fed on daily beating and other forms of torture.
Bashabe who was abducted from Hoima on 6th this month, was joined by his other two colleagues one of whom cannot independently stand without support as a result of the damage inflicted on his limbs resulting from the torture.

In the welcome words of NUP’s head Robert Kyagulanyi, Bashabe mysteriously showed up at NUP offices on Tuesday morning from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) where they have been held since arrest.
“Thankfully, he defied the nonsense by his abductors and right away reported straight to our offices on release; by now these criminals should have realized that the crimes they commit against us only make us stronger and give us more reason to fight for our redemption.
According to Bashabe, he was released this morning on condition that he never supports us again or speaks to the media about his ordeal.
Kyagulanyi welcomed his comrade back and promised that UGANDA WILL BE FREE.
