Kananura warned motorists against driving after consuming alcohol, urging them to arrange for a sober driver or use a special-hire vehicle to reach their destinations safely.
“Our message is clear: If you drink, do not drive. Arrange for a sober driver or use a special-hire vehicle to get home safely. We will not allow anyone to endanger lives by drinking and driving,” he said.
He added that the operations would continue as police intensify efforts to rid the roads of dangerous drivers and improve safety for all road users.
Kananura also warned that police would name and shame motorists caught driving under the influence of alcohol in subsequent operations.
“In subsequent operations, we will have no option but to name and shame those who choose to drink and drive,” he said.
